about:
The Shawnee hunted and traded along the Cumberland River is what is today Tennessee, and had several villages along the river. Their primary village was near the present site of Nashville. The Shawnee lived in this region from as early as the 1670s to around 1714, when they were driven out by the Cherokee and Chickasaw.
