Folklore of Highland County was originally published in 1946. The author, Violet Morgan (1895-1983), was an avid historian and taught in the Highland County School System for many years. The eight chapters describe Highland County from prehistoric times to the Mound Builders, its first settlement near Sinking Spring in 1795, early pioneer settlements, schools, churches, roads, the Underground Railroad, and its various towns & villages.
