"Squaw Winter" was originally published in 1955. The author, Violet Morgan (1895-1983), was an avid historian and taught in the Highland County School System for many years. Her first book, "Folklore of Highland County" was published in 1946. Set in the Fort Hill region, Squaw Winter tells the romantic and tragic saga of Sary, the last of the Shawnee in Ohio.
