The Melungeons were a mixed ancestry people with European, African, and North American Indigenous roots who lived in East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Western North Carolina, and Eastern Kentucky. These are our ancestors who are widely accepted as being of Melungeon ancestry. As I work through the ancestor pages, you’ll see more names added here.
